這是《傲慢與偏見》的第二段，下面我把第一段也補上：
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.
However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood,this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.
劃線部分這句話裡面有三個語言難點。
首先，這裡的 little known意思是「所知甚少，鮮為人知」。
例句：He is little known in France.
他在法國不太為人所知。
This brand is little known to the consumers here.
這裡的消費者對這個品牌所知甚少。
其次，大部分疑問詞+ever可以引導讓步狀語從句:
however = no matter how
whatever = no matter what
wherever = no matter where
whoever = no matter who
whenever = no matter when
whichever = no matter which
例句：However cold it is outside, she has the window open.
= No matter how cold it is outside, she has the window open.
另外，劃線句子中的on his first entering a neighbourhood可以理解為when he first enters a neighbourhood。
所以整個劃線部分可以解釋為：
No matter howunknown/unfamiliarthe feelings or views of such a man may bewhen he first enters a neighbourhood

這裡的known是已經形容詞化了的分詞，和little組成片語 little-known/little known，指鮮為人知的。

however引導的讓步狀語從句，除了作引導詞(連詞)，其也在從句中作程度副詞或方式副詞。前者是描述形容詞/副詞的程度，後者則是描述動詞的方式。而作程度副詞時要把其在從句中修飾的中心詞(在這裡就是little known)提前緊跟，讓你誤以為是主語，原句的語序其實是：
The feelings or views of such a man may be (however) little known on his first entering a neighbourhood...
I am so handsome. However handsome I am...

However 引導了乙個讓步狀語從句，這句話麻煩的地方在於，may be的主語是feelings or views，而不是a man，而on引導的介詞從句是man的後置定語，而不是接在be的後面。當然了，也可以把on短語理解為乙個時間狀語，意思沒有太大的區別。
however從句可以轉寫為，
Although the feelings or views of such a man who is on his first entering a neighborhood may be little known，
也就是說，known這裡是個被動句。
後面那個so that句就很簡單了。
