Copernicus was frightened and confused when he could not explain the observed astronomical phenomenon except the sun was placed at the centre of the solar system with planets moving around it. He struggled and spent several years improving his theory until he felt it』s complete. Aware his theory contradicted the then prevalent Christian one, he was wise to reject his passionate friends』 suggestion to publish his findings.
He kept it inside a small private group and went public as he died in 1543. The Christian Church attacked his theory and its followers. Yet Copernicus』s theory won the battle in the end and his name is remembered forever.
