定語從句。
現代英語的定語從句是靠近拉丁語，但古英語（和中古英語）則有區別。古英語定語從句的引導詞往往是 e 和 at（也就是 the 和 that）。而且用法也和現代英語不太一樣。
比如古英語：
Sē e brd hf, sē is brdguma. 逐字翻譯： He the bride has, he is bridegroom.
意譯： He who has the bride is the bridegroom.
中古英語：
a well, at in the day it is so cold
逐字翻譯： a well, that in the day it is so cold.
意譯就是：a well, which is so cold in the day. （或者 which in the day is so cold 也可以）
